Established over 70 years ago, the Alresford Chamber of Commerce promotes Alresford as a good town to live, shop, work and visit. With around 40 members, we represent business interests in the town, helping them to flourish with local support and assistance. Not only do we promote and support members, we also represent their interests at every level of local government via the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and the network of British Chambers of Commerce.
The Chamber is committed to keeping members informed of what’s happening in the town and represent their interests with local town and city councillors, taking an active interest in all issues that affect the area.
Promoting the Town
The Chamber actively participates in the organisation and funding of special events throughout the year, working closely with local groups and organisations. These events include an Easter Egg Hunt and an October Ghost Hunt.
Additionally, the Chamber works closely with the Alresford Pigs Association on the “Lighting Up Alresford” project to decorate the main streets in the town with Christmas trees. This greatly enhances the Christmas atmosphere in the town and helps to attract additional visitors; it also raises funds for local good causes.
Each year, as part of the Christmas festivities, retailers and local businesses stay open for late-night shopping on the evening Father Christmas visits Alresford. This special night is one of the most successful late-night events in the county.
